Meet Dr Ashok Gunawardene
Dr Ashok Gunawardene, PhD FRACS, is a Specialist General Surgeon with an interest in Weight Loss management including medical and surgical pathways with a team-based approach geared for durability.
He is a SCOPE-certified practitioner by the World Obesity Federation, a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS) and Member of the International Federation of Surgery and other therapies for Obesity (IFSO).
He consults in the North and West of Greater Melbourne at locations in Epping, Wallan and Sunbury in the North and Point Cook and Werribee in the West.

Step 2 – Obtaining a Referral
If surgery is the preferred pathway, a referral from your GP will be required before we proceed.
Step 3 - Booking Your First Consultation
We’ll work with you to schedule your first consultation with Dr Ashok at a time that suits you. Any additional consultations required as part of your assessment will also be arranged from here.
Step 4 - Surgery and Recovery
Dr Ashok and his multi-disciplinary team remain actively involved throughout your weight loss procedure by guiding and supporting you at every stage.
